The Nature of Personal Reality

"Thoughts of peace, particularly in the middle of chaos, take great energy. People who can ignore the physical evidence of wars and purposely think thoughts of peace will triumph -- but in your terminology the work meek has come to mean spineless, inadequate, lacking energy."

The Heart of The New Thought by Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Our thoughts are shaping unmade spheres,
And, like a blessing or a curse,
They thunder down the formless years
And ring throughout the universe.

The more we realize the tremendous responsibility of our mental emanations the better for the world and ourselves. The sooner we teach little children what a mighty truth lies in the Bible phrase "As a man thinketh, so is he," the better for future generations. If a man thinks sickness, poverty and misfortune, he will meet them and claim them all eventually as his own.

That which we pity we cannot hate. The wonderful Intelligence which set this superb system of worlds in action must have been inspired by love for all it created. So much grandeur and magnificence, so much perfection of detail, could only spring from Love. Whatever is out of harmony in our little world has been caused by man's substituting hate and fear for love and faith.

Every time we allow either hate or fear to dominate our minds we disarrange the order of the universe and make trouble for humanity, and ourselves. It may be a little late in reaching us, but it is sure to come back to the Mind which sent forth the cause.

Every time we entertain thoughts of love, sympathy, forgiveness and faith we add to the well-being of the world, and create fortunate and successful conditions for ourselves. Those, too, may be late in coming to us -- BUT THEY WILL COME.

The Nature of Personal Reality

"It is not necessary that you hold in steady consciousness data that does not directly apply to what you consider your physical reality at any given time."

Thought Forms by Annie Besant and C.W. Leadbetter

As knowledge increases, the attitude of science toward the things of the invisible world is undergoing considerable modification. Its attention is no longer directed solely to the earth with all its variety of objects, or to the physical worlds around it; but it finds itself compelled to glance further afield, and to construct hypotheses as to the nature of the matter and force which lie in the regions beyond the ken of its instruments. The fact is that science has pressed its researches so far, has used such rare ingenuity in its questionings of nature, has shown such tireless patience in its investigations, that it is receiving the reward of those who seek, and forces and beings of the next higher plane of nature are beginning to show themselves on the outer edge of the physical field. " Nature makes no leaps ", and as the physicist nears the confines of his kingdom he finds himself bewildered by touches and gleams from another realm which interpenetrates his own. He finds himself compelled to speculate on invisible presences, if only to find a rational explanation for undoubted physical phenomena, and insensibly he slips over the boundary, and is, although he does not yet realize it, contacting the astral plane.

The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events

"Cancer, for example, has become the symbol for the body’s vulnerability, in current years - the proof of man’s susceptibility to the body. It is a disease that people have when they want to die - when they are ashamed to admit that they want to die, because death seems to fly against sane behavior. If the species struggles to survive, then how can individuals want to die?"

Cosmic Consciousness by Richard Maurice Bucke

A consciousness of the cosmos, knowing the life and order of the universe. It is considered a higher, yet at present an exceptional peak in human evolution which the race is expected to reach in a distant future.

According to Dr. Richard M. Bucke (1837-1902), a friend of Walt Whitman, some individuals, mostly of the male sex, between 30 and 40, and who are highly developed with good intellect, high morals, a superior physique, and an earnest religious feeling can acquire this consciousness.

Dr. Bucke considered thirteen individuals to have possessed such a consciousness: Gautama, Jesus, Paul, Platinus, Mohammed, Dante, Las Casas, John Ypes, Francis Bacon, Jacob Behmen, William Blake, Balzac and Walt Whitman.

The experience comes suddenly without warning with a sensation of being immersed in a flame or rose-colored cloud and is accompanied by a feeling of ecstasy, moral and intellectual illumination in which, like a flash, a clear conception in outline is presented to the mind of the meaning and drift of the universe. The man or woman going through this experience knows that the universe is a living presence, that life is eternal, the soul of man is immortal, the foundation principle of life is love, and the happiness of every individual in the long run is absolutely certain.

All fear of death, all sense of sin is lost, and the personality gains added charm and is transfigured. In a few moments of the experience the individual will learn more than in years or months of study and will learn much that no study will teach. Walt Whitman described cosmic consciousness as "ineffable light, light rare, untellable, light beyond all signs, descriptions and languages."

The Nature of the Psyche

"The natural healing that often occurs in the dream state is undone in the waking state, in which any such cure is seen as miraculous and against the rules."

Black flag anarchists hounded by FBI

All your web logs are belong to us

By Paul Hales Friday 01 April 2005, 09:12

When the FBI came knocking, an anarchist at flag.blackened.net seems to have gotten a warm feeling spreading through the seat of his trousers.

Muttering about the "murderous history of the FBI," Dave, a sysadmin for the site, posted a message out in Interwebland attempting to explain why he felt compelled to hand over IP information to the Feds.

"I am the sole support for my wife and infant daughter," writes our hero. "I never, ever, ever drink and drive," he whines. "If I end up dead by strange means - contact the FBI in Chico, California for more details."

Dave says "proven murderers and automatons for the state" representing Oakland FBI got in touch to ask for the IP addresses of certain correspondents with the site, about whom we don’t learn much, other than Dave feels they stitched him up.

Now, feeling "like a coward and traitor to my comrades," Dave is too worried not to comply.

But he can’t elaborate too much: "I hate to have to keep my mouth shut in areas where the Gestapo is involved, but I also have to weigh things against the overall security of flag and it's subdomains and also the wellbeing of my family."

"Freedom of speech does not exist, don't try to test it. They will come bust down your door - for real - point a gun to your head and pull the trigger if you refuse to comply, writes Dave.
